Hey Guys, I’m Lina!

Growing up, I always paid attention to the way food is attached to nostalgic memories. I linked so many fruit, dishes, and desserts to a place, time, or even a person. Food meant something deeper to me. It didn’t just satisfy hunger, it satisfied an emotion.

Fast forward 20 years later when I encounter an old school therapeutic doctor. He explains how I should incorporate more colors into my diet.

“Always make your dishes naturally colorful! ” That hit me hard.

I started noticing the beauty and vivid shades in everything around me. Color. Nature. Flavor. This inspired me to start documenting and photographing all of my food.

At the same time, my husband and I were opening our restaurant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Chicken Republic was our brain child. Everything from restaurant design, recipe development, and even interior design. This was the perfect place for me to launch my dessert recipes and even food photography.

And voila “Scarlet Radish” was born. My journey from restaurant owner, food photographer and blogger, to recipe developer.
