Ever since I was a child, my mother used to infiltrate the house with scents and smells of various spices. Whenever I asked to help her with cooking, she would tell me I could put in the spices, and I would carefully sniff in the scents and make sure I stand on top of the pot to smell how each spice disperses into the food.
I have recently found a new glory in various spices and I’m trying really hard to incorporate them in my cooking because of their health benefits. Especially Cinnamon, I am thankful that I grew up on this spice as we used to use it a lot in apple desserts as a child. I also love Cumin and really appreciate how it aids in digestion and regulates digestive disorders such as diarrhea, bloating, and indigestion. And the king of all spices, Tumeric. I have been reading a lot about it lately and there is literally nothing this spice can’t aid in fighting; inflammation, brain diseases, heart diseases, Alzheimer’s diseases, depression, and aging. I sprinkle it on pretty much all my food, all it does is give a hint of yellow but you really can’t taste it!
